[edit] History of UrbanAustin.org

In 2007 and 2008, during the height of the real estate boom in Austin Texas, the wiki based UrbanAustin.org website was one of the most popular on the topics of architecture and development in Austin, Texas. The site was quietly managed by local creative firm Terra Incognita. In 2008, as the real estate boom busted, the updates to the project pages began to slow and the information eventually became obsolete.

One day, the website just went dark... and the project was gone.

Visitors and contributors were sad to see it go.

[edit] Today

Urbanaustin.org is making a comeback, with pages soon to be managed by a community of local contributors. Much is the same, and we want to preserve the traditional wiki format, look and feel, of the original UrbanAustin.org. In order to populate the database, we salvaged most of the legacy pages from Archive.org's record of UrbanAustin.org. Many projects have been delayed since UrbanAustin.org went down, so many of the project pages you see will be out-of-date.

We need your help to update each page with up-to-date and relevant information for each project. We invite those with project knowledge to become editors and help maintain this wiki for the benefit of those interested in Austin architecture and development.
