Green WTP/ECC Redevelopment

On Wednesday, June 18, 2008, the City Council unanimously chose Trammell Crow to develop the Green Water Treatment Plant and the Austin Energy Control Center sites. Below is their current proposal slated to begin construction in late 2010.


The Trammell Crow group has offered the city $57.9 million for the roughly six acres of land, which has been appraised at $55.5 million.

The ~2.5 million NSF proposal is to include eight towers (6 on the GWTP site and 2 on the ECC site). Maximum proposed heights of the towers are 55 stories for the GWTP site and 52 for the ECC site. Overall, the project may encompass approximately 1.4 million NSF of residential (265 apartments & 500 condominiums), 588,000 NSF of office, 350,000 NSF of hotel (375 rooms), 160,000 NSF of retail, and parking for 5,200 vehicles. Also, 235 senior assisted living units are also being planned for the project.
